Qualifications

Our full list of qualifications can be found here. This list includes A Levels and vocational options. We also offer Extended Project, Core Maths and English Speaking Board qualifications which can be completed in enrichment slots.

Non-qualification activities

We pride ourselves on our non-qualification activities. Some of these take place through enrichment (our full list of enrichment offerings can be found here). We also have several activities throughout Year 12 and 13 including Wellbeing Wednesdays, activities day and the big Christmas Quiz.

Tutor time programme

We have an extensive tutor time programme that covers many elements of personal development with the aim to support our student to progress to further or higher education or to employment. The tutor time programme includes:

  • VESPA
  • Current affairs
  • Wellbeing
  • Study skills
  • Futures
  • Work experience
  • UCAS
  • Finance
  • Driving theory

Work experience

Students complete a work experience placement in June of Year 12. This is organised by the students with the help of their tutor as part of the tutor time programme.

English and Maths Resit

In line with the 16-19 study programme guide, any students without a GCSE grade 4 in English and Maths must attend resit lessons to work towards these qualifications.

PSHE

All students across the school have their PSHE lesson on a Monday p3. These lessons cover:

  • Relationships (sexual and reproductive health)
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Living in the wider world

Post 18 destinations (2022)

  • 119 students went to University last year – 88%
  • Employment – 7%
  • Apprenticeships – 3%
  • Gap Year – 2%

Year 12 into Year 13 retention is 94%
