PSED / Equality Act Objectives
The purpose of our Equality Objectives is to ensure that Walton High School fulfils its commitment to promote equality in line with our Equality Policy and the Public Sector Equality Duty which was introduced by the Equality Act (2010).
Our equality objectives are in reference to the nine protected characteristics: Race, Disability, Sex, Age, Religion or Belief, Sexual Orientation, Gender reassignment, Pregnancy or Maternity, and students who are linked by association.
The purpose is to implement strategies that eliminate all forms of discrimination at Walton. Equality objectives 2023-25 are as follows:
1. To implement high quality professional development to ensure an ongoing and current focus on issues of safeguarding, sexual harassment and equality.
2. To maintain and promote a positive culture and ethos in which members of our community from all backgrounds feel valued and included.
4. To foster an environment where pupils are encouraged to develop an awareness of and pride in their own identities as well as empathy and insight into the lives of experiences of others.
