KS3 PROJECTS - Year 8
During this module students will be learning how electrical energy is produced and delivered to homes and how different renewable energies are used to produce electrical energy. They will then complete a design and make task to produce a ‘Steady Hand’ game based on a theme of their choice.
Resistant Materials-Metal Accessories and Jewellery
During this module students will be working with copper and acrylic to produce a number of small items of jewellery. They will be taught the skills required to cut, shape, join and finish these materials. They will also be taught about other common metals and their properties.
Textiles Technology-Tablet Case
During this module students will be experiencing a range of Textiles decorative techniques such as wax relief, hand embroidery and machine stitching. Throughout the module students will complete a variety of tasks to increase their awareness of safety within Textiles. Using the knowledge and skill learnt students will complete a design and make task to create a cushion cover.
Food & Nutrition-Nutritional Foods
During this module students will be cooking several products to develop their practical skills. Students will complete a number of tasks to increase their knowledge of nutrition and healthy diets. Towards the end of the module students will produce a pizza which is balanced on the ‘Eatwell Guide’ and suitable for teenagers.
